I hadn't known this would be so heavily about the Fae. I usually like things about the Fae in my books, but this at times, was much more fantasy than I usually like to read.

I liked both of the H & H's character. They were both strong, loyal and respectful, and showed that to each other. I enjoyed that the hero's family was so strong in the story, and that he came from a good family.

This had chemistry between the two leads but not really sex, so if you're looking for a light-on-sex read this is for you. I didn't really miss it because the author is a great story-teller and kept me turning pages. I would definitely check out more of her books.

After years as a mercenary soldier Malcolm Lammergeier has come home to take his place as the Laird of Ravensmuir. Something happens on that first night that will force him to rebuild the collapsed keep as quickly as possible. His family live nearby but disapprove of how he earned the wealth he brought home.
Catriona is serving in the household of a wonderful family. When the lady of the house sees Ravensmuir is being rebuilt, she insists on visiting her brother.
The keep has a reputation with the locals for lots of strange happenings . The Fae are believed to live there, and interfere with the lives of the humans they encounter.
This is such a great story with fabulous characters. There are battles, both real and magical. Lots of intrigue and danger. Our heroine is a remarkably brave young woman to even survive as far as she has. That is what draws the interest of our lovely hero.
It is part of a series, but you don't need to have read the previous ones to enjoy this. However if you intend to read the series it's best read in order or you will find spoilers. I love all of them.
Malcom has been a mercenary. He has been building wealth so he can restore and rebuild Ravensmiur. Catriona is a victim of war now pregnant. She fears she will have to give her child away to ensure its health and happiness.

Malcolm does not believe he will live past Midsummer Eve. He decides to take Catriona to wife and raise her child as his heir. After giving birth to a son, Catriona accepts Malcolm's handfasting. When she discovers the reason behind Malcolm's belief why he will not live past Midsummer's Eve, she is dismayed and promises she will do all she can do to save him. Can she keep her promise? Does Catriona hold the secret to save Malcolm? Now that Malcolm has found Catriona, will he be able to live his life with her?

This is a delightful story filled with romance and suspense. We have the mysteries of the keep Ravensmiur and of the cross Catriona wears around her neck. The main characters are well known and the love between them is strong. The plot and subplots keep the reader turning the pages to discover what happens next. The dialogue is refreshing and moving. This novel contains steamy foreplay.
okay I'll start off with saying this is the first book i have read in the true love bridesseries but i have read other books in the conecting series about other memebers of this family and i had a working knowledge of who was who and what every thing was about - Okay The frost maidens Kiss- Malcom has returned ho,me to Ravensmuir affter I think Six or Seven years as a mercanary bringing with him Roiches Enough to restor his ruin of a keep and more besides Along with a friend Who hails from the souith of spain orginaly thus when The friend hears enchanting music he has no reason to resist the unearthy allure- this book can be red as a stand alone but is made richer and more Compelling if you at least read the Snow White bride the thrid book in the Jewles Of KInfairle Series first I highly recomend this book for those looking for a good historuic and fantasy romance set in the middle ages

affter fallowing his friend into the realm of faerie Malcom dose somthing I think is Verry KNoble and Sweet he exchanges his life for that of his friends and Thus give him self A mere Six months to live for the fey will be collecting his soul at Mid summer to pay their tithe to hell(I dont know if this is a true aspect of scottish fairy tales or if Ms. Delacroix made it up for her tale but makes you wonder if the friend isnt right and their deamons not fey,.but i'm off topic) so affter agreeing Malcom gets busy BY midsummer he's damn well going to have a new keep at ravensmuir a legacy to pass down something his family can remeber him by then the unexpected happens and a woman Whos reportedly cold as frost yeat round with child and disbeliving in the fey enters the picture as his sisters servent no less Thoyugh she dosent belive in the fey she sings faerie tales beautifuly and these in turn become the key to malcoms survival or Demise Thats as fasr as i'll go for now You'll have to grab a copy of the book to find out the rest Five stars A wonderfull book by one of my favorite Authors
I enjoyed the romance, and the story kept me reading until I finished. I thought the writing was good although it could use another proofreading pass.

A few things were hard for me to believe--the kiss Catriona gave Malcolm the first night she met him, the vigorous activity within a day or so of giving birth, and a wet nurse available for marriage. By definition a wet nurse has a baby of her own, right? These things COULD happen, but WOULD they?

The biggest problem I have with the book is its genre was not revealed until I was reading it. I was expecting a medieval romance, and it's full of fairies (Fae) that make up an active part of the plot. The blurb as of this date barely hints at that aspect, and the book is not in 's paranormal or fantasy categories. I see now that the blurbs for the other books in the series do mention Fae, but I didn't check them before I bought and read the book.

I was OK with the fairy subplot, but some readers wouldn't be. I plan to read the other books in the series now.
