I could not put any of the books down and ended up finishing all three plus the novella over the weekend!! Great story different idea for a plot with the shifters originating from birds and having large angel like wings. The way the author ends the second book, Focus, was very surprising; I could not believe that Allie's ex, Toby, was the Blackwell heir!! Levi and Allie are adorable, I love when the guy has to fight for what he wants instead of the girls just fawning over them. Allie definitely keeps Levi on his toes throughout the story but you can tell that she loves him beyond belief and she gives him a hard time when needed. Levi continues to prove to Allie over and over how much he loves her even if she second guesses him occasionally.

Quit the drama between all the heirs to the thrown when they show up at the winter ball to dance with Allie. Very entertaining, also I loved all the girly descriptions of the dresses that Allie wears for each event. Then you find out that since Levi didn't do the mate bond right when he tricked Allie in the first book, the two get sick from the tainted bond and have to find a way to fix it before things gets worse. I loved Levi's grandma she was a great addition to the already great group of characters. I feel terrible for Toby by the end of the story and really hope things work out for him in the spin off series. It all ends at the coronation when Levi takes over as King; I just wanted the story to keep going for Allie, Levi and the gang!!! I will be reading the spin off series The Empire Chronicles Book 1, Soar, next. Overall a very entertaining read!!

Oh, wow! This is by far my favorite of the series! I loved, loved this one.

All my doubts and grouches about Allie are put to rest. She's no longer whiny or stubborn, but self assured and more grown up in this book.

I love the way Allie and Levi are so loving in this book! I'm really just in a general love fest with the whole book. I'll try to list some favorite points about this book without giving away spoilers.

1- Allie isn't scared of Levi's Granny, and she holds her own with her. She also isn't laying down to take crap from his dad in this book. I'm admiring her spunk!!!
2- Levi is so head over heels for her, and he's so sweet and loving and protective. Now if he can just learn to stop keeping crap from her! Gah!
3- Toby... Toby ends up redeeming himself and I began to like him in this book. I'm happy he will be in future spinoffs.
4- Allie makes some seemingly stupid decisions that end up being pretty brilliant.
5- Jared! swoon. We know from my other reviews that I love Jared. His friendship with Allie cracks me up, and it's just heartwarming for me. I love every second of their banter.
6- I love Levi's mom and granny. Love them! I also love Hailey.
7- I swear I grinned like... the whole last hour of reading this book. I even giggled a bit at parts!

To recap this book made the whole series. I liked the other ones, but I loved this one. This one goes in my favorites list. <3
When this book ended I thought....that's it? I didn't like this series much and in my review of the second book I thought I wasn't going to read this. Well curiosity killed the cat. I was literally exhausted of the playing hard to get. I felt like the action, again, was limited. So many story lines should have been intertwined since the beginning. We knew about the Blackwells, sort of, but suddenly another family is in the mix. Suddenly she finds out about being an enchantress, and suddenly she is sick from the ring and might die like NOW. It just felt rushed and random. Would have looked Also, this is considered young adult?! The way women are sexualized in this book series it's definitely not the impression to give young girls if you are hot enough, play hard to get enough before having sex, you might be looked at as more than just a fling. Yep. No thanks. Other than the obvious flaws it was mildly entertaining and I was able to read the entire series in two evening so not a complete waste of time.
