A must read, this is a story not to be missed, it will have you laughing, crying, biting your nails and sitting on the edge of your seat.Elizabeth Yu-Gesualdi writes with such detail and so descriptively, I felt I was actually in the places the action was taking place!
A must read for those who love, baseball, families, young love and suspense! Great for teens and up...would love to see a movie made out of this one ! Looking forward to the next novel from this talented author!

I was looking for something different to read, something by an unknown author and came across Broken Road. The book may be geared towards the teen or early twenties crowd but is an enjoyable read at any age. Well written with an interesting storyline.
This book is a wonderful, captivating, page turner of a read. I could not wait to find out what was going to happen from one chapter to the next. Yes, the characters are young, but well-versed and mature without being "too mature". Yu-Gesualdi has a great way of getting into the minds of the young adults and showing that not all kids these days are emo and full of angst. They have heart and experience real issues that today's young adults face. I found myself wiping water from my eyes one minute and giggling the next. Such a cleverly written first novel and I can't wait to read more from her!
I just finished reading Broken Road, by Elizabeth Yu-Gesualdi. I have three teenage boys, so I have taken to reading young adult fiction because we love to talk about the books we share. Yet, because they are boys, the books rarely involve romance, and if they do, it certainly isn't a big part of the story. Still, when I came across this book, I decided to give it a chance. After all, the cover said it involved baseball, emotional turmoil, and menacing danger. I'm very happy I gave it a chance. The author does a great job of making you feel the pain of loss and the fear of an uncertain future.She develops each character so you feel you know them. Just when you think to book is heading more toward the romance side of fiction, you recognize the emergence of a villain who has been slowly, precisely, and believably developed. You love to hate this villain because you know that envy and self-absorption really can lead a person to do evil, even if that wasn't the result they intended. If you enjoy a story with romance, passion, danger, and real emotion, go out and buy this book or get it on your kindle. You won't be sorry.
"Oh how I loved this book. It's like Aladdin's diamond in the rough. I ctried like a baby for the first 25% of the book, was happy for the next 25%. Then out of the blue the book starts taking on really dark and scary undertones. So for the next 30% of the book I was terrified for Angel and Jarrod. I was a little bummed that the epilogue didn't go into a more of their relationship but pleasantly surprised to see what was going on with Alec and glad Morgan got what she deserved. I will gladly sing the praises of this book and will be recommending it to everyone."

The authors word play was new and captivating while her rich characters felt extremely real. The struggle they all went thru mirrors life like nothing I've ever read.
